Is Daimler spinning off its Mercedes-Benz dealerships?

In a bid to improve its profitability, Daimler could sell some of its Mercedes-Benz dealerships in Germany and keeping the rest of the dealerships it owns in a separate entity. The Daimler management board reportedly isn’t satisfied with the ‘maximum margin of 2 percent’, as stated by a representative of the IG Metall labor group, which plans to hold a rally on the 28th of April due to the breaking down of negotiations regarding the preservation of jobs for those on the retail side of the Mercedes-Benz dealerships. Mercedes-Benz Dealership Gets Lot at Daytona Auto Mall

There will now be a new Mercedes-Benz dealership at the Daytona International Auto Mall. Sonic Automotive, which owns the Mercedes of Daytona Beach dealership located at 1720 Mason Avenue, just shelled out $2.65 million for a lot on the Auto Mall. Once relocated there, Mercedes-Benz will go head-to-head again with BMW, one of Mercedes’ primary luxury car brand competitors and the one that was beside the Mason Avenue dealership as well.
