In less than a month, Mercedes’ European markets will see the launch of the new C-Class coupe, which the German maker intends to place in a leadership position. Slated as options for the new coupe will be a choice of three gasoline and two diesel engines, namely the C 220 CDI BE, C 250 CDI BE, C 180 BE, C 250 BE and C 350 BE. The BE (BlueEfficiency) designation stands for several engine efficiency technologies that Mercedes is introducing to the C-Class Coupe, such as direct injection and an ECO start/stop function. Mercedes’ excellent 7G-TRONIC PLUS seven-speed automatic transmission is part of the powertrain choice. Driver aids such as… Continue Reading »

Bucking the trend towards forced-induction powerplants, Mercedes has announced that the hot version of its new C-Class coupe will carry the 6.3-liter naturally-aspirated engine, and not the 5.5-liter biturbo unit that performance division AMG is starting to favor. Mercedes squelched all rumors regarding the coupe’s engine by introducing the two-door at the Geneva Auto Show with the 6.3-liter unit. As Mercedes diehards all know, the 6.3 V8 produces 457 horsepower, with 30 more available once AMG works its engineering magic into the equation. With this announcement, Mercedes has put the C-Class coupe squarely into the segment dominated by the BMW M3, with its 420 horsepower engine, and the Audi RS5,… Continue Reading »
The upcoming Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe is set to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show this March. Like all good vehicle models, however, official images of the vehicle have been leaked out. This time around, it’s all thanks to a German magazine, which published a trio of images. The changes start after the front end, though…. Continue Reading »
The Super Bowl is just around the corner. And during the game, Mercedes-Benz is going to unveil the first Super Bowl commercial in their history. The ad focuses on the 125 year Mercedes-Benz history by showcasing almost all its vehicles ever made. Diddy (or is it P Diddy) is also in the ad, mainly for comical reasons, even though, I am not really sure his part was that impressive. The commercial finishes by showing four of their newest and soon to be released models – C-Class Coupe, SLS Roadster, CLS, and the all new SLK. Enjoy and let us know what you think.
