In celebration of hitting the 2 million video view mark, the official Mercedes AMG YouTube channel released a special thank you video. While the rationale for having a Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe drift haphazardly through some Laguna Seca corners escapes us, it’s a nice little showcase of the raw power and ability of the C63. The reception to the video hasn’t been very warm, with just over 32,000 views as of the time this article was written. Some commenters even pointed out that the video could have been much, much better if better angles or better editing could have been used. Still, at least the channel went out of its… Continue Reading »

Brought to our attention by regular reader Jay, here’s a teaser video that can be found in Mercedes-Benz’s official YouTube channel on design fundamentals. Forget brand names, designer Luke Leitch says. He goes on to describe what he feels are what you should look for in a design. Curiously, the video doesn’t show a car or a detail but a seat, done with highlights of lime green. Definitely not a color normally associated with factory cars from the German automaker. The end of the video shows the phrase, “do you dare challenge your perception?” Well, Mercedes may be preparing us for something truly different, as we shall see with the… Continue Reading »
Seeing is believing, so they say. And what better way to demonstrate the safety of Mercedes-Benz cars than to show a seemingly wrecked CLS that protected its occupants, including the family dog. Mercedes’ spot is called “Amy”, which is the name of the dog accompanying its owners when they crashed in their CLS last year. The voice over asks if Amy was lucky to walk away from the crash. And when you see the damage to the Mercedes, it’s certainly bad. But the voice says that luck had nothing to do with the survivors walking away. By implication, it’s the excellence of Mercedes’ engineering and safety features that allowed the… Continue Reading »
