Video Shows Mercedes-Benz AMG GT Near Stuttgart

The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT (C190) is set to be officially launched during the 2014 Paris Motor Show. Prior to this event, the luxury vehicle is currently being tested by the luxury vehicle manufacturer in a number of places across the world. Daimler denies investment in Tesla ‘giga-factory’

Tesla Motors is planning a $5 billion battery ‘gigafactory’, but Daimler – the parent company of Mercedes-Benz and owner of a small stake in the electric car maker – is not going to invest in this newly proposed concept. That was confirmed by Daimler chief Dr Dieter Zetsche after speaking to reporters at the Beijing Auto Show. Mercedes Will Equip Future Compact Hybrids With Three-Cylinder Engines

Bernhard Heil, the head of powertrain development of Daimler, revealed that Mercedes-Benz will be using three-cylinder engines in its future compact hybrid cars designed for front-wheel drive. According to Automotive News, some Mercedes engineers are skeptical about the idea of putting three-cylinder engines. However, Daimler pointed out that smaller engines carry a lot of potentials. Heil said that it is needed for transverse-mounted hybrid powertrains. Mexico venture in the works for Daimler and Nissan?

According to a Reuters report, Daimler, the parent company of automaker Mercedes-Benz, has signed a new pact with Nissan, which will involve the creation of a new joint venture in Mexico that will produce new vehicles for Mercedes and Nissan’s Infiniti brand. Sources have said that the deal at this point entails Nissan manufacturing the next-gen GLA at the company’s Aguascalientes facility, which is also set to produce new Infiniti models.
