Carscoop is reporting that Mercedes-Benz is prepping a concept car called the CLK Shooting Brake for the Paris Auto Show. As they put it, it will be a sporty three-door model with an elongated rear-end. This will essentially be a first look at how the next-gen CLK will look like when it comes out in 2009. There is a rumor that Mercedes might actually produce a watered-down version of the shooting brake, so far, the only thing that we are sure of is that a coupe and convertable version will make it to the 2009 market. Accoring to Carscoop and its sources, we should see first official images and specs… Continue Reading »

Kleemann, Denmark’s finest tuners, has sent us a teaser photo of what will be their CLK 63K AMG Black Series version. The car with all the specs will be unveiled during a press conference on Friday September 5th at the Kleemann HQ in Denmark. They haven’t revealed any details yet, but one thing is for sure, the CLK BS won’t be the same after Kleemann has touched it. “…the result is one of the most fascinating and uncompromising Kleemann cars ever.” – stay tuned.
Contrary to what many believe, Mercedes has not given up on taking on and beating the competition with its new CLK. Spies have caught the CLK being tested and prepped for a possible release in 2009 to take on not just the 3-series coupe, but also the new A5 from Audi. According to AutoExpress, the new CLK will continue to be marketed as a separate vehicle and won’t be associated with the C or E-Class, even though, it will share the C-Classes chassis and possibly some design ideas. It will come in a variety of engine options, such as three V6 engines producing 300hp, 354hp, and 428hp. It should also… Continue Reading »
Mercedes-Benz made a big splash with the introduction of its CLK63 AMG Black Series coupe last year. The aggressive “F1 safety-car” look gave the 500 hp CLK Black a visual edge that the CLK55 AMG lacked, and the Black Series’ suspension and brakes were in a decidedly different league compared to other Mercedes. Impressive spec sheet notwithstanding, some customers will still believe that 500 hp is not enough, and for those select few who find the CLK a bit tame, there is always RENNTECH.
Still not expected until sometime before summer 2009, the new Mercedes CLK is already in testing. It was caught in Gernamy and in Sweden. According to WorldCarFans, it should have three different engine choices: a V6 with 272hp, a V8 with 388hp and an AMG version with 503hp. There may also be more engines including diesel versions for some markets (mostly Europe). Head over to WorldCarFans to see more pictures
This is a pretty cool video showing two guys with their Mercedes E320 CDI following and trying to keep up with the Mercedes CLK DTM AMG Forumula 1 Safety Car. Not sure what the Safety Car was doing on the A50 freeway from Eerde to Nistelrode in Netherlands. It is just amazing how powerful and fast this thing is; at one point they were doing over 240km/h. What the CLK does to them at the end is just priceless.
The guys over at Inside Line have gotten the chance to test and review the new Mercedes Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series that just recently came to the States. While the red color is okay, I would have liked it much better in pure black or even silver. The video is a must see, not because it is the first video of the CLK63 AMG BS in the US, but also because it is pure insanity what the car is doing on the road. Let me shut up so you don’t have waste more time. Have fun watching it!
