Drool-Worthy C63 AMG Black Series Video

We recently reported that Australians have bought out the entire allocation for that continent’s C63 AMG Black Series within weeks of its announcement. And to show the rest of the world what a desirable animal it is, here’s  a video of it to further whet our appetites. To recall, the C63 Black Series has been blessed by AMG with a 6.3-litre V8 developing 517 horsepower. 457 lb.ft. of tire melting torque accompanies that output, with the company’s AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed  rounding out the powertrain. 19-inch wheels and a sports exhaust round out the aggressive-looking and -sounding package. If you can get yourself on the list of lucky buyers, the… Continue Reading »

Australians Buy Out C63 AMG Black Series

On the heels of the news that Mercedes beat BMW in North American sales last month comes another uplifting report, this time from the land down under. There, the entire allocation for the C63 AMG Black Series has been snapped up. Announced only in the first week of November and for delivery in April 2012, the overwhelming response has caught the local managers there by surprise. Says Richard Emery, General Manager Sales, Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars, “I can’t say I’m surprised but we’re certainly overwhelmed by the quick response. We’ll continue to work with AMG to secure more vehicles as not only have we sold out of our C 63 AMG… Continue Reading »

“Less Doors” Commercial, is it Intentional?

There has been some grammar corrections on the Internet brought about by a Mercedes-Benz commercial. At 24 seconds, the man would say that the vehicles has “less doors”, even though, grammatically it should be “fewer doors.” The netizens are actually thinking about whether this is intentional or not, but thinking how this is being talked about, it certainly is intentional and not something that Mercedes-Benz or the ad agency just messed up on. This is what a Mercedes-Benz marketing representative had to say about the “grammatical error”: “In this case, we’re told that the word “less” was chosen because it’s the direct opposite of “more” (which is used several times… Continue Reading »

2012 DTM Car Unveiled By Schumacher And Rosberg

At the Frankfurt show, Mercedes has unveiled more than concept cars that may or may not see production. It also used the occasion for F1 drivers Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg  to unveil the 2012  DTM C-Class Coupe. Even standing still, this car is literally a silver arrow, because that is what the car’s exterior finish is. But that flashy exterior is just a cover for the serious engineering that Mercedes is known for in its racers and passenger cars. A carbon fiber monocoque of advance design underpins the high-strength rollcage and energy-absorbing crash structures that protect the driver from all sides. These structures are needed, because the 4-liter V8… Continue Reading »

C63 AMG Coupe Tricks On Facebook & Youtube

Let it not be said that Mercedes-Benz is an old-fashioned company, despite being one of the world’s oldest companies. As part of its efforts to increase mindshare for its hot C63 AMG Coupe, Mercedes posted a few videos on its Facebook page and asked fans to vote on their favorites. The top three favorites feature a pair of C63s drifting to form a figure eight, the second is a high speed threading the needle style stunt between parked cars. Ho-hum. Except it’s done in reverse. For the third stunt, two cars time time it perfectly to intersect each other within inches of each car. All this media exposure only shows… Continue Reading »
