Record Mercedes Benz C 63 AMG Sales in Australia

Mercedes Benz C 63 AMG was launched in Australia in 2008 and exactly after a year the German company has declared that more than 1000 C 63’s (both estate and sedan) have been sold since then. The actual figure stands at 32 estates and 1,006 sedans. These figures have made the C63, the best selling AMG make in Australia to date. This announcement has propelled Mercedes-Benz Australia Pacific to the fourth rank worldwide (by volume) for international AMG sales. CEO & Head of Mercedes Benz, Dieter Zetsche, Facing Criticism for Dual Roles

The head and CEO of Mercedes Benz Car unit Dieter Zetsche has been criticized for holding dual designations and underperforming on both. On Sunday, a German paper Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung cited an unnamed supervisory board member as,” The double role is unacceptable as a long-term solution.” The article further mentions that the board is not satisfied with the 2010 operating margin target given by Zetsche for the Mercedes unit. Hamilton Got a Ticket for Awesome Burnouts

Everybody loves burnout especially the police because they put an end to it with a ticket. That’s exactly what happened when Lewis Hamilton was handed over the keys of a 2010 Mercedes Benz C63 AMG sedan at Albert Park, Melbourne. He reportedly burned some rubber and has been apprehended for the same by the Melbourne cops. Though, Hamilton is not solely guilty. Credit should actually go to car’s standard 6.3-litre 450-horsepower V-8 which made the burnout a success. Hamilton was charged under the offence “improper use of a motor vehicle”. Daimler Agrees to Bribery Charges, Pays $200 million

Last week, Daimler AG has been charged with violating U.S. bribery laws. According to the charges, the company executives have bribed foreign officials with millions of dollars and luxury cars in order to win business deals. The documents presented in the court further accuse Daimler AG of engaging “in a long-standing practice of paying bribes”. It states that bribes were being paid to win business deals in various countries including Russia, China, Turkey, Egypt, Nigeria, Iraq from 1998 to as recently as 2008.
