The famous Benz tuner, Brabus, has come out with the fastest and most expensive SUV in the world. The Mercedes-Benz GL was not just given a visual tune up, but Brabus also installed a 6.3 liter V8 engine as well as two turbos. The result of this was a 650 horsepower SUV that can gove from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds with a top speed of 300 km/h.

The price of all the custom tuning is certainly not cheap, especially when equipped with so many LCD screens and carbon fiber trim. So if you want haul your kids around and need to get to that soccer game really fast, then this can be your for the price of just $518,000.

What Car?, the UK’s biggest car buyer’s guide, has named Mercedes-Benz the winner of its 2010 prize for best safety innovation for the ATTENTION ASSIST feature, which is designed to combat overtiredness in drivers – one of the most frequent causes of accidents. The Mercedes-Benz S-Class also took home the Car of the Year Award for best buy in the luxury segment for the fourth time in succession.

Other active safety features on the E-Class include Adaptive Highbeam Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Assist, Speed Limit Assist, the PRE-SAFE® Brake which initiates partial or emergency braking automatically if there is an acute risk of a head-to-tail collision, and DISTRONIC PLUS proximity control.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class and SLS get ‘The best cars of 2010′ award

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class is the best car in the upper executive segment, while the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is the best sports car. These are the results of a reader survey conducted by one of Germany’s well-known specialist car magazines, “auto motor und sport”. The E-Class and SLS have therefore both walked away with the title “Best car of 2010″.

The editorial team of “auto motor und sport” asked readers to vote on some 326 vehicles across ten categories, and no fewer than 96,784 respondents answered the call to cast their votes in the traditional reader survey to find the best cars of the year.

Michael Schumacher is the driver of the SLS tunnel stunt?!?

In case you haven’t seen the new SLS commercial (or the tunnel stunt as some like to call it), then please check it out before you view the above video. In this new video, it seems that the driver of the SLS AMG was actually Schumi, or was he actually just added later to the clip. I would doubt that he actually performed the stunt, not only was it a dangerous stunt, but his insurance and sponsors wouldn’t allow it. Imagine if he got injured, it would be catastrophic to him, the Mercedes GP team and his sponsors. Eitherway, are pretty cool commercial for the 2010 Formula 1 season if nothing else.
