Bayerische Motoren Werke AG is in talks to cooperate with rival Daimler AG’s Mercedes unit to develop and assemble engines, axles, steering gear or drive systems. Both the manufacturers are trying to cut costs and make small cars for a host of reasons like CO2 emissions, fuel efficiency and increase in volumes. BMW has set an internal cost-savings target of 8 billion euros while Mercedes adopted the CORE cost cutting strategy. Merging of the two German automotive magnates would lead to a lot of interesting news which will closely be tracked by us in the following months.

Mercedes CLC to be unveiled during Berlin Fashion Week

Alongside Ralph Lauren’s creations will stand the Mercedes-Benz CLC sports coupe at this month’s Berlin fashion week. The C class coupe has made it big in parts of Europe and this new version would try and establish itself stronger in the competitive luxury coupe segment. The interiors have been revamped and the facelifted exteriors give it a crisp look. This three-door liftback will be produced in Brazil at the company’s plant in Juiz de Fora. The picture shown above is a teaser from Mercedes and the ever eminent Stuttgart star is seen clearly which somehow always seems to get beautiful women to pose alongside for photographs!

Mercedes GLK: A new character conquers the SUV world

GLK – a combination of letters that has specific connotations. The “G” alludes to the archetypal cross-country vehicle, the “L” intimates luxury and, as in other Mercedes model series, the “K” stands for compactness (German: Kompaktheit). At first sight these three aspects may appear to be mutually incompatible. But on closer inspection they offer the perfect combination as Mercedes-Benz takes its SUV expertise and launches it in a whole new dimension – in the exciting Vision GLK FREESIDE. In January 2008 this compact character will be making its world debut at the Detroit Auto Show, providing a vision of the shape of SUVs to come.
