I am quite fortunate to be living in Germany, not just because I am able to enjoy myself and work a 35 hour week, but because one of the larges car industries in the world is here, yes by here I mean BW. This weekend, I had the opportunity to go and watch the DTM race at the world famous Nuerburgring. Even though, Audi with Martin Tomczyk were able to win on Sunday, Bruno Spengler from Mercedes-Benz was able to finish second, followed by Mattias Ekstrà¶m. Mercedes has officially released details and photos of the C-Class C63 AMG Estate today. While we’ve seen photos and have gotten some detail about the AMG version on Monday, we just learned some more details about the car, such as 69,853 Euro price tag.

Following in the Saloon’s footsteps, the C 63 AMG Estate is now also due to be launched. Under the bonnet with its distinctive power domes, the AMG 6.3-litre V8 engine delivers effortless acceleration. The high-revving naturally aspirated engine sets the benchmark in this segment with its maximum output of 336 kW/457 hp at 6800 rpm and maximum torque of 600 Nm at 5000 rpm. The unique high-performance estate accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds; top speed is 250 km/h (electronically limited).

In the first half of 2007, DaimlerChrysler Buses boosted global sales by three percent to more than 18,600 units. Sales increases were achieved worldwide for both complete buses (5,200 units) and chassis (13,500 units). Thus DaimlerChrysler Buses once again confirms the high sales level of the first half of 2006, and underscores its position as the world market leader. These results were released at a press conference held in the run-up to the “Busworld” motor show in Kortrijk, Belgium.

DaimlerChrysler AG is planning to enter a Co-operation with the Indian Company Sutlej Motors Ltd (SML) located in Jalandhar, Punjab. The two companies intend to build bus bodies on Mercedes-Benz chassis manufactured by DaimlerChrysler India Pvt. Ltd. (DCIL), which is a 100% subsidiary of DaimlerChrysler AG.

The collaboration of DaimlerChrysler and SML encompasses the development, production, marketing, sales and after sales of luxury rear engine coaches. The Mercedes-Benz chassis will be manufactured by DCIL, the body will be built up by SML. DCIL then will handle Sales and After-Sales of the coaches. The first vehicles will roll off the line in the first quarter of 2008.

The Mercedes C63 AMG Estate

Mercedes officially released the C-Class Estate on Friday, but the guys at Carscoop were fortunate to receive images and some info about the AMG Estate version. The car will receive the 6.3l V8 will produce 457 hp and 600 Nm of maximum torque. They also report that the AMG Estate will be catapulted from 0 to 100 in only 4.6 seconds and will have a top speed of 155mph – electronically controlled. Mercedes will showcase the Estate at the IAA in Frankfurt two weeks from now, but it is not know if the AMG version will also be shown.
