Wheelsandmore Brings Mercedes-AMG G63 To 582kW, 1000Nm

Giancarlo Perlas August 21, 2019

As if the Mercedes-AMG G63 needs more power, right? Why would anyone in their right mind tune-up a sport utility vehicle that already has 430kW and 850Nm of output? Well, German tuner Wheelsandmore thinks the auto is going to be more fun if it has 150kW more of power.

The tuned-up Mercedes-AMG G63 can now generate a total output of a whopping 582kW and 1,000Nm. To do this, the tuner has to give the vehicle larger turbochargers for its 4.0-liter V8 engine. The larger turbochargers come also with a modified exhaust system and a remapped ECU.

Too powerful for you? Buyers can get a “tamer” version of the tuned-up Mercedes-AMG G63. Wheelsandmore also made a unit that can produce 485kW or 522kW.

And as if the Mercedes-AMG G63 isn’t already aggressive-looking and has that off-road aesthetics buyers are after, the German tuner fitted it with 24-inch wheels with 295/30 rubber. Buyers can choose to upgrade the rubber to 355/20 units.

Other features will remain the same such as the nine-speed automatic gearbox, Ride Control sports suspension, and a 12.3-inch central display for the infotainment system. AMG’s Dynamic Select system offers the G63 in five driving modes and three extra off-road modes—Sand, Rock, and Trail.

Wheelsandmore is offering the upgraded kit to buyers outside German. It didn’t say how much the tuner package will cost, but the G63 itself costs around $145,000 to $147,000. For an SUV that’s probably the best off-roader in its segment right now, we say that’s a better deal than anyone can expect.
