Mercedes SLR Club Trophy 722 GT race footage

AutoMoto.TV has uploaded a short clip of the Mercedes SLR Club Trophy 722 GT. As you’ll see, the video shows the starting grid, as driver from various countries line up behind models holding their respective numbers. You can also enjoy a birds-eye view of the race thanks to a halicopter that captured some awesome footage – the video is after the break. Even with the helicopter noise, the sound of the 722’s can still be heard. Enjoy!

Paris Auto Show 2008: SLR 722 S Roadster

Just days ago, Mercedes introduced the 722 S Roadster to the world with some stunning pictures in preperation for Paris. The guys over at Autoblog are at the actual Auto Show and were able to snap some more and detail pictures of the Roadster. In case you have forgotten some of the amazing specs: The Roadster will deliver 650hp/478 kW, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and a maximum speed of 335 km/h. Red Dot Design Award for SLR and Maybach Publications

Daimler AG will receive this year’s red dot design award in the Communication Design category for the SLR. CLUB. Magazine and Manufaktur’s exclusive yearbook. The jury of renowned international designers and design experts chose to honor Daimler for the high quality of the two publications’ design. In addition to the innovative, high-class design, the jury was particularly impressed by the publications’ emotive expression.

McLaren SLR Speedster Computer Illustration

Artist Jon Sibal has created an amazing computer illustration of the future McLaren SLR Speedster that we saw on various different shy shots. While the Speedster looks very similar to the current SLR, Jon points out that the only parts that these two cars share are the headlights. Almost all body panels have been redesigned, including the whole side panel, fenders and doors. The hood was also redesigned to tame the slope leading to the high beams which was originally connected to the A pillar. Video: Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Speedster Spied Again

The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Speedster was caught testing once again at the Nuerburgring in Germany, this time by Auto-Motor-und-Sport. We’ve seen the speedster before in another spy video, but the current video not only shows us the car sprinting around the track, but lets us actually hear hear the roar of the monster under the hood. It’s rumored that the top speed is at around 218mph and will be able to go from 0-300km/h (180mph) in 26 seconds. Enjoy.

McLaren SLR Speedster caught testing at Nürburgring

KGP has managed to get another glimpse of the future McLaren SLR Speedster. Like we reported earlier this month, the Speedster will be lighter by 200kg compared to the current SLR; it will still pack the same engine power, which in theory should produce better performance numbers. Its top speed is rumored at around 218mph and it can go from 0-300km/h (180mph) in 26 seconds; only 75 are going to be produced and will cost more than a $1 million. Check out the gallery
