Nissan Rubs Off Rumors About Partnership with Daimler for the Mercedes Pickup

When plans for the development of a Mercedes pickup broke out, all heads immediately rolled to Nissan. Then, rumors about a possible partnership with Daimler AG for the project followed. Recently, Carlos Ghosn, the CEO of Nissan, addressed the issue during an interview at the New York Auto Show. Mercedes-Benz Enters a New Battleground in the US EV Market

Mercedes-Benz is gearing to introduce its first mass-produced pure electric vehicle in the U.S. According to Forbes, the flagship luxury vehicle brand of Daimler is looking for an end of June or early July release of the EV in the American soil. Mercedes-Benz Showed the Least Recall Rate in the US Says Research

A 30-year study that focused on the safety of vehicles in the US revealed that Mercedes-Benz had the lowest recorded recall rate. According to Reuters, the research was conducted by a Woburn, Massachusetts-based firm called iSeeCars. The study reviewed 15 major automakers operating in the US. The methodology of the long-term study compared the number of vehicles recalled from 1985 to 2014 with the number of cars sold within 1980 to 2013. Based on the data, Mercedes-Benz recalls vehicles at a rate of 0.41. That means Mercedes recalls 41 vehicles for every 100 units sold. Ford, Nissan, And Daimler Forged Fuel Cell Technology Development Agreement

An agreement was forged by three major auto manufacturers recently that will result to a common fuel cell system. The system will be used for upcoming zero-emission vehicles. The release of reasonably-priced, hydrogen-powered, mass market vehicles within five-years-time is the main goal of the agreement between Ford, Nissan and Daimler. We’ve known about the partnership between Daimler and Renault – Nissan for some time now, but it is only today that we get very concrete reminders of the cooperation that involves engine- and technology-sharing between the automakers—the two have just concluded the groundbreaking for a new engine-manufacturing plant in Decherd, Tennessee. Daimler and Nissan Looking at Creating a Plant in Mexico

Nissan and Daimler are finishing up plans to have a plant in Mexico which will cost a round $1 billion. With Nissan taking care of the construction cost and Daimler will take the capital of operating the facility. According to AutoNews.com, the plant should be producing around 200,000 vehicles and will start its operations in the first half of 2014. Rumor: Daimler and Renault-Nissan Planning an Engine Plant?

According to a report from the Financial Times Germany, Daimler and Renault-Nissan are looking for a plant site in North America. And that plant will produce engines made and designed by the two companies. Daimler added 2.4 billion dollars in the Tuscaloosa plant, creating 1,400 new jobs. Meanwhile, Infiniti (Nissan) will also build a new plant in Tennessee in 2012.
