It seems Brabus wanted to do something different this time around. Instead of doing its magic on the usual suspects, it chose the Mercedes-Benz S500 Plug-in Hybrid. The new project of the tuner for the car was called the B50 Hybrid.

Of course, since we are talking about Brabus here, the key feature of the tuned Mercedes-Benz S500 Plug-in Hybrid is its reconfigured combustion engine. Based on the press release of the tuner, it transformed the output of the hybrid car’s 3.0-liter V6 turbo engine from 328 hp to 379 hp. The torque of the S-Class was also raised from 480 Nm to 550 Nm.

Now, combine the numbers with the output of the electric motor of the Mercedes-Benz S500 Plug-in Hybrid and we will get an overall output of up to 500 hp and 890 Nm. The numbers enable the car to go from zero to 100 km/h in just a span of 4.9 seconds, which is 0.6 faster than the 0-100 km/h acceleration of the standard S500 Plug-in Hybrid.

However, Brabus left the electronic limiter of the car intact, so its maximum speed is still at 250 km/h. Then there was no mention regarding the change in the fuel consumption of the car.

In addition to the combustion engine boost, Brabus offers several optional aerodynamic and styling upgrades for the car too. These include Brabus’s signature quad-tipped stainless-steel tailpipes plus new bumpers, air intakes, spoiler lip, fenders, LED lighting system, monoblock alloy wheels measuring from 19 up to 22 inches, suspension adjustment, and more cozy and luxurious leather covers for the interior. Another optional add-on is the iBusiness multimedia system.
