Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Available For Sale In Germany

The Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR was designed as a race car the luxury vehicle manufacturer from Germany. It was initially intended for the 1997 GT Championship but was later upgraded to allow it to be used for the “24 Hours of Le Mans.” After the upgrade for Le Mans, the luxury race car was renamed CLK GTR.

A recent report on gtspirit.com shows that a rare 1999 model of the CLK GTR is currently available for sale. The luxury race car is available through James Edition by Autohaus Süd GmbH, a dealership based in Germany.

The CLK GTR was designed mainly for endurance racing. Following the replacement of the CTK GTR with the CLK LM in 1998, the German luxury vehicle manufacturer produced 26 units of the CLK GTR designed for use on the road. Six of the twenty-six units created by Mercedes-Benz were roadsters. Out of the six roadsters manufactured by the luxury vehicle manufacturer from Germany was a right-hand drive model specially-built for the Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah. The sultan also owned a right-hand drive coupe.

The CLK GTR was named by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most expensive production car in the world when it was launched by Mercedes-Benz. It had a price tag of over $1.5 million.

The Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR available for sale in Germany has travelled 4,310 kilometers. It features a 6.0-liter V12 engine that is capable of producing a total of 604 HP of power. It is also capable of producing a torque of 572 lb-ft.

The Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR available for sale by Autohaus Süd GmbH through James Edition has a price tag of over 1.0 million Euros.
