According to Nick Fry, Mercedes AMG Petronas CEO, Lewis Hamilton’s arrival is very exciting for the team but this also puts a lot of pressure to them. Now that Hamilton is under their banner, Mercedes AMG team is under pressure to create a more competitive car that could complement the skills of the former F1 world champ. Hamilton bagged the F1 world championship in 2008, which was his first major world title. He signed up for Mercedes AMG Petronas following the retirement of Michael Schumacher from the Formula One scene last November. Spotted! The Mercedes McLaren SLR 722

If ‘old’ cars capture your attention, then you must be like Shmee150 who took this video. He spotted the McLaren Mercedes SLR 722 in the streets of London and he knew instantly that it is Youtube-worthy. The car has black light-alloy wheels that are 19-inch in size. The badge in red that says “722” adorns the car, the slightly modified tail lights made the good-looking car to appear even better. Performance wise, the car can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, 300km/h in 21.4 and 200km/h in 10.2. Top speed is at 209mph which is tad faster than the standard SLR (by 1.9 mph). Monaco GP: Schumacher Tops Qualifying, Will Start at P6

With the 5-place penalty he was handed for an incident at the previous race, we said Michael Schumacher had to have a good showing at the qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix, right? Well, the 7-time Formula One champion exceeded everyone’s expectations by finishing at the top of the pack with 1:14:301 in Q3, pushing his Mercedes AMG Petronas MGP W03 hard to outpace everyone else. Schumi will start at P6 on the grid tomorrow after the penalty is applied. Mark Webber of Red Bull Racing finished second in qualifying and will subsequently hold pole position at the race. Rosberg Scores Historic Win for Mercedes GP

Nico Rosberg finally felt how sweet it is to win a Formula One Grand Prix event at the Chinese Grand Prix last Sunday. It was historic for both the driver and Mercedes AMG Petronas GP, as the win marked the first victory in 57 years for an F1 car that rode purely under the banner of the Silver Arrow. Rosberg cruised to victory, ending up with a 20.6-second lead on the next guys, who happened to be driving Mercedes-powered cars. McLaren-Mercedes teammates Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton finished second and third respectively to join the German race winner on the podium.
