2019 Mercedes-Benz A-Class Sedan Spied During Testing

Giancarlo Perlas March 28, 2018

The Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan was recently spied during its test run. The car was caught in a video, which you can watch here.

After the Mercedes-Benz A-Class hatchback, the sedan version of the car is expected to hit the market in fall this year. It will have a 2019 model year.

The A-Class sedan has been confirmed for U.S. release. The hatchback version of the auto will not be arriving in the country though.

With the Mercedes-Benz CLA is already offered in the U.S., the German automaker is planning to position the A-Class sedan below it. The assembly of the new car is reportedly taking place at a new plant located in Mexico. It will be produced together with some Infiniti cars. The other plants are located in China and Hungary.

Insider info suggests that the Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan will bear a starting price less than $30,000. If that’s happens, its MSRP might fall below the price of the CLA when it was introduced.

We have seen the Mercedes-Benz A-Class Sedan Concept. From the looks of it, the production version of the car, which is shown in the video here, will offer many changes compared to its concept.

Sources claim that the A-Class sedan will be riding on an updated version of the MFA (Modular Front-drive Architecture) platform of Mercedes. It is also used by the other compact cars of its maker and has been referred to as the MFA2.

The use of the MFA2 platform will allow the A-Class sedan to reduce its weight compared to the present offerings of the range. It will pave way for the alternative drivetrains of the vehicle, too. In addition, the upcoming compact sedan will carry the MBUX or the Mercedes-Benz User Experience.
