Bottas wins Austrian GP but Hamilton fails to make podium

Valtteri Bottas won the 2017 Austrian GP from pole position, holding off a late-race surge from Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel to ensure that Mercedes would win the race this time. Vettel’s second-place finish, however, means that he pulls a bit farther away from Lewis Hamilton. The Brit could only finish in fourth place after a five-place grid penalty was slapped onto him. The win nets Vettel six more points over Hamilton in the drivers’ standings. Vettel’s lead is now 20 points; he has 171 points to Hamilton’s 151. Half-Year Mercedes-Benz Sales Break Company Record

The luxury division of Daimler continues its success when it comes to vehicle deliveries to customers. From January to June of 2017, Mercedes-Benz sales broke the records it set within the company during the previous years. According to Daimler, the early half-year Mercedes-Benz sales of 2017 increased by 13.7% compared to the performance of the brand in the same period of last year. The overall sales of its luxury vehicles in the first six months of the current year numbered up to 1,144,274 units. More 2018 Mercedes-Benz G-Class Spy Shots Show Up

More spy shots of the 2018 Mercedes-Benz G-Class recently surfaced online. This time, the prototype vehicle displayed a few updates in its look. In the spy photos featured in Autocar, the vehicle appears to be getting in and out of a gasoline station. It is still covered in a heavy zebra camouflage but we can already make out some of its design elements based on its form and several bulges. The new G-Class not does not deviate much from its predecessors. The auto retains its retro and boxy look, which is heavily-based on its 460-series models that came out in 1979. Lorinser Gives the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter a Widebody Design

German tuner Lorinser recently introduced its widebody kit for the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. The cosmetic updates not only include the exterior but the interior of the van as well. The body enhancements provide the van a refreshed look. Check out the upgrades given by Lorinser to the Sprinter based on a report by Motor1.com: Exterior Outside, the Sprinter gets a more stunning look thanks to new LED running lights, fender flares, rear bumper, diffuser and wheels. The wheels measure 18 inches in diameter with 8-inch wide split spoke design. We are still reeling from the loud bang brought about by the fireworks during the Fourth of July U.S. Independence Day celebration, but Mercedes-Benz just released an explosive teaser. Recently, the automaker gave a sneak peak of its much-awaited Mercedes-Benz X-Class. The video called “Mercedes-Benz X-Class: First of a New Kind—Teaser”, which was uploaded via YouTube by the three-pointed star brand, features rich visual effects. The clip starts with a brewing storm, strong waves in the ocean, avalanche, stampeding bulls and horses, and a lot more, which eventually take the form of the Mercedes pickup. Mercedes-AMG GT3 Gets New Livery Commemorating Fourth of July

One Mercedes-AMG GT3 stood out during the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship endurance race last weekend at Watkins Glen International due to its amazing livery inspired by the United States of America flag. The number 33 Mercedes-AMG GT3 in Sunday’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen was decorated with the stars and stripes to commemorate the US Independence Day held on July 4th. According to Mercedes-Benz USA, the car was driven by Ben Keating and Jeroen Bleekemolen for Riley Motorsports. New Mercedes-Benz S-Class Production Begins

Yesterday, July 3, the production of the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class officially started. The car is being assembled in the Sindelfingen plant of the three-pointed star marque. Marking the start of the event was the pilot test for the automated driving feature of the range. An obsidian black metallic-painted Mercedes-Benz S560 4MATIC showcased the feature. The car drove automatically without a driver seating in its cockpit. Onboard cameras, radar and ultrasonic sensors working under a powerful software that enables the S-Class to accelerate and brake autonomously aided the car in reaching its destination.
