The Mercedes-Benz C-Class and M-Class are joining elite company as holders of a 5-star rating for the strict US NCAP crash test program. Explained: Why it’s the M-Class and not ML-Class

The average-sized sport utility vehicle or SUV of Mercedes Benz is popularly known as the M-Class. This is also the official name assigned to it by the famous automaker. However, customers and car enthusiasts are quite perplexed why the M-Class models come with the “ML” acronym instead of just “M”. For instance they write the name of the variants as “ML500” instead of just “M500”. So, should it be called ML-Class instead of M-Class? A representative of Mercedes-Benz addressed this issue during one of the company’s global media event earlier this year. New M-Class Launched in India

The third generation of the Mercedes-Benz M-Class SUV was launched recently in India, and it comes with exciting news that the vehicle will be priced some 15 percent less compared to the last iteration seen in the country. This allows the German automaker to be competitive with the prices offered by BMW and Audi for vehicles in the same segment. BMW has managed to leapfrog Mercedes-Benz for the lead in India’s luxury car market, and the latter is already at risk of losing the second spot to Audi. The repriced M-Class line should help contribute to Mercedes-Benz’s efforts to regain the lead in this market. “We are confident that the… Continue Reading »

The new M-Class: More miles at less cost

Nice guys finish last eh? Apparently not if you’re driving the new generation Mercedes-Benz M-Class SUV. With its massive build – five doors, increased length and width, less height, heightened arm and leg space – comes more power. That’s right — more power. With a smaller engine, that is. Even without the old V6 3-liter turbo, the new twin-turbo diesel 2100 inline four powerplant sheds the same output at less cost – roughly two-thirds the fuel economy of the old engine. Greater efficiency comes at a price though. Less of a price, actually. It’s price tag is $10,000 less. You get 44 miles per galon, a 1,450km range out of… Continue Reading »
