Mercedes-Benz working on a SLK Gullwing?

Is Mercedes-Benz prepping a new low-end Gullwing? Well according to AutoExpress, Mercedes has plans to bring a new SLK Gullwing to the masses, which may look very similar to its bigger brother, the SLC Gullwing. Besides having some amazing gullwing doors, and draw inspiration from the legendary 300SL, it is also supposed to be hybrid. With some very muscular lines, it will be a big change compared to the current SLK (which women love to drive). The hood is much longer and due to the gullwing doors, the side sills will be much higher than on normal cars. The designers actually took that weakness and turned it into an opportunity…. Mercedes Benz SLK 55 AMG

The SLK 55 AMG now makes an even more dynamic impression. The appearance of the sporty roadster reinforces even more emphatically the car’s claim to being in a league of its own. The restyled front apron with a more pronounced V-shape, the modified Mercedes star, enlarged air dams and a black-painted transverse fin at the bottom ensure a distinctly masculine aura. Large, circular fog lamps with chrome surrounds are now positioned further outwards, enhancing the impression of width. The hot air from the integral engine oil cooler is vented via side outlets in the front apron. The exclusive SLK 55 AMG bodystyling also includes AMG side skirts, the muscular AMG… Continue Reading »

2009 Mercedes-Benz SLK

Its here!! The facelifted 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLK was officially unveiled by the company today morning. The first thing you will notice is the F1 style nose which I personally think looks smashing! The rear gets a smoother look with a faux diffuser affixed between the trapezoidally shaped tailpipes. The 2009 model also receives an all new interior which includes a superbly designed instrument panel, redesigned seats and a new three-spoke steering wheel. The SLK also gets new sporty tail-lights and headlights. Two new engines join the 5.5L V8 of the AMG model, including a revised kompressor (supercharged) four-cylinder producing 184 hp/184 lb.-ft of torque and a new 3.5L V6 producing… Continue Reading »

New Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG Black Series: It’s Time to Fly

The famous F1 or SLR lookalike nose has finally justified its appearance. Well, it could be a potential überflieger, a car that Porsche drivers won’t make happy at all. After shifting the CLK63 AMG into overdrive with the Black Series treatment, Mercedes is repeating the process, this time with the SLK55 AMG. Thanks to a massaged 5.5-liter V-8 that now makes 400 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque — up 40 and 7, respectively — and lightweight components that shave 99 pounds off the car’s weight, the SLK55 AMG Black Series goes 0-62 in 4.5 seconds — 0.4 second quicker than the regular SLK 55 — with a top speed… Continue Reading »
