Facelifted Mercedes A-Class, B-Class, CLA, and GLA Spied on the Road

Giancarlo Perlas August 5, 2022

Not just one, but four Mercedes-Benz cars sporting a facelift were caught in a spy shot during their test drives. These included the A-Class, B-Class, CLA, and GLA luxury vehicles.

Thanks to the partial level of camouflage and the positioning of their covers, we have an idea about the changes that will come in the way of the spied vehicles. One thing in common with them is that they all have wrapped facias and backsides, which suggest where the updates will take place. Partially peeking in the cars are their headlamps, taillights, and front grille that seem to have been reshaped to resemble the key styling elements found in their electric relatives like the EQA for the A-Class, CLA, and CLA, and the EQB for the B-Class.

Based on the start of production of their present-generation series, all the mentioned products are already due for a mid-cycle refresh. The fourth-gen A-Class was rolled out in 2018 while the second-gen CLA, second-gen GLA, and third-gen B-Class all came out in 2019. The updated versions are expected to be unveiled before 2022 ends and shall be offered as 2023-year model cars.

It should be noted, however, that all these are in danger of hitting the chopping block of Mercedes as reports indicated that the A-Class and B-Class only have until 2025 until their electric counterparts totally take over their slots. It’s unclear whether or not the axing will include the CLA and GLA, but judging that they are both based on the A-Class core line, their futures look bleak as well. Their dwindling sales are not helping their cause either.
