How Much is the Mercedes-AMG EQS in the US?

Giancarlo Perlas April 4, 2022

The all-new Mercedes-AMG EQS has finally been confirmed to arrive in United States dealerships later this spring. Its maker revealed that its pricing will start at $148,550, including the $1,050 destination charge.

The AMG EQS is basically an amped-up Mercedes-Benz EQS. For $45,000 more than its regular Benz counterpart, the all-electric luxury vehicle features AMG’s signature high-performance boost plus sportier cosmetic enhancements.

First off, the AMG EQS will be available in two trims, namely the Exclusive and Pinnacle variants. It’s not yet entirely clear what sets them apart, but the former has at least 649 hp while the latter has 751 hp.

The EV rides on an all-wheel-drive system, which Merc claims to have a torque of “10,000 times per minute” with intelligent power distribution to the front and rear wheels depending on where it finds a balance on its grip. Another addition is the AMG Ride Control+ suspension highlighted by an adaptive adjustable damping, a four-link axle at the front, and a multi-link axle at the rear with nine-degree steering.

In a typical AMG fashion, the exterior of the car is made sportier with a faux front grille featuring Mercedes’ Panamericana design, chrome highlights, wider air vents on the front bumper, and a more prominent front lip spoiler. Going inside, the AMG EQS is fitted with the usual MBUX infotainment system, large displays, aluminum inserts, leather seats, driver assistance systems, 3D surround sound, heated seats, massage functions, wireless charging, and smartphone integration, among others.

The Mercedes-AMG EQS is bound to go head-to-head against the American-grown Tesla Model S Plaid with prices starting at $135,990.
