Mercedes-AMG G63 Takes Brabus and Platinum Motorsport Upgrades

Giancarlo Perlas September 11, 2021

Seeing the “B” Brabus logo replacing the three-pointed star emblem on the fascia of a Mercedes-Benz is guaranteed to unlock more hidden potentials of the Mercedes-AMG G63. Combined with upgrades from Los Angeles tuner Platinum Motorsport, the “B” turns to extra badassery as it makes it more capable of tackling tougher terrains.

The AMG G63 starts with the popular Brabus G700 Widestar body kit that replaces its front grille, wheel arches, bumpers, hood, wheels, and rear spare wheel cap. The engine also gets a boost from the package that takes its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine from 577 hp to 700 hp.

The next stop is the “Adventure” package of Platinum Motorsport. The kit takes the iconic SUV into another level when it comes to off-road adventuring with its new lift kit, tire package, wheels, roof rack complete with a shovel and ax, powder-coated running boards, huge winch, headlight protectors, LED spotlights on the roof, rear ladder, and carbon fiber spare wheel holder at the back.

While the modifications are definitely mind-blowing and they make the G-Class stand out more than its standard version, it does not come cheap either. Platinum Motorsport’s asking price for this off-road machine is between $550,000 and $600,000 depending on the preferred configuration of the buyer.

As a reminder, the 2021 Mercedes-AMG G63 with standard features retails at $156,450. With that, the price of the Platinum Motorsport baby here is already worth at least three brand new, high-performance G-Class SUVs.
