Modded Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series Vs BMW M3 F80 in a Drag Race

Giancarlo Perlas July 31, 2021

Almost a decade ago, the 2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series once sat at the pinnacle of its brand in terms of performance. Rivaling the car was the 2014 BMW M3, which was as equally impressive as the Merc. What we are about to see here is a battle between the modified versions of the two.

Before the main event, here is the tale of the tape of the two high-performance cars:

Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series

Before the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series was this model. Featured here is a tuned version by MSL Performance that’s finished in 3D green paint and fitted with a rear wing. Underneath its hood is a 6.3-liter supercharged V8 bumped up to deliver 750 hp and 950 Nm of torque. That’s 233 hp and 330 Nm more than its stock configuration. All that power goes to the rear wheels and is distributed via a seven-speed automatic transmission. The setup lets the 1,750 kg vehicle accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds.

The four-door Bimmer is not something to be taken lightly. Tuned by Evolve, the car also comes with greenish paint. It is not as showy as the Merc but popping up its hood reveals a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six capable of 700 hp and 950 Nm of torque. The rear-wheel-drive car is equipped with seven-speed automatic transmission. This one has the advantage in terms of weight because it is only 1,550 kg, which is 200 kg lighter than its competitor. The numbers allow the vehicle to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds.
