2022 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe Steps Up Its Game

The Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door levels up its game for the 2022 year model series. The Nurburgring conqueror takes a minor tweak to its exterior and interior design, and its maker released a special edition package for extra flavor.

One of the standard upgrades for the entire line of the AMG GT 4-Door is the new AMG Performance multi-function steering wheel featuring a twin-spoke design wrapped in either Nappa leather or Nappa with Dinamica suede. The six-cylinder and V8 variants add heating as an option and a sensor that detects when the driver is “hands-on” the steering wheel. If the driver takes his or her hands off the steering wheel for a certain time, a warning cascade is triggered which eventually activates the Emergency Brake Assist if the driver still appears to be inactive after the time expires.

The car also gets a couple of optional colors for the upholstery including Sienna Brown, Classic Red, Yacht Blue, and Deep White. In addition, it offers an optional five-seat configuration with an optional rear bench.

Meanwhile, the new Manufaktur Exclusive Edition package can be availed starting from the AMG GT 53 model and up. It adds a Rubellite Red metallic paint with chrome linings and 21-inch wheels on top of the standard trim. Going inside reveals a Neva Grey Exclusive Nappa leather with Ashwood accents and black diamond stitching.

The powertrains are retained for the AMG GT 43 and 53 models, but the 63 and 63 S models will likely receive a boost because Mercedes said that it will reveal its mechanical specs at a later date.
