2019 Mercedes-Benz B-Class Is A Family-Friendly Affair

Giancarlo Perlas August 6, 2019

The 2019 Mercedes-Benz B-Class is, perhaps, the most family-friendly vehicle the automaker has come up within recent years. Now on its third generation, the B-Class has more room both for passengers and cargo, as well as the German manufacturer’s latest driver-machine interface.

Families everywhere would love the B-Class, which is reigniting Mercedes’ role in the slowly dying segment of MPVs. The latest B-Class is using the same platform as the A-Class and the CLA, the latest in Mercedes’ lineup of compact cars.

Although it follows the similar style of its predecessor, the 2019 B-Class has had a significant makeover. The design isn’t something that will turn heads around when you see it on the road, but it’s enough for families who are looking for a people hauler.

The new B-Class looks like an A-Class hatchback but with a raised roofline, more space in the cargo area, and an upgraded interior that’s not best suited for families.

The problem is the B-Class makes a lot of noise for a car that’s supposed to be premium. Also, it’s more than expensive compared to its predecessor and its contemporaries in the segment. The 2019 B-Class is worth $30,868 in the United Kingdom and about $36,500 in Ireland, where it has been tested before launch.

If you want more power and performance for a fraction of the price, you can get Renault’s Grand Scenic. And before you even think about saying no to the French manufacturer, you should know that the B180d is powered by a 1.5-liter diesel engine developed by the French company. The engine can produce 116 horsepower.

You can get the AMG version for more power but that will cost you $38,700.
