New Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 4MATIC Brings Style And Tech To A New Level

Giancarlo Perlas April 9, 2019

The new Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 4MATIC is bringing its iconic style and superior tech and intelligence to the young and active market. This latest point of entry to the world of Mercedes-AMG combines the technology found in the A-Class with an iconic design and intelligent MBUX interior assistant.

Tobias Moers, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH, said that the new CLA 35 is an “attractive offer for a young, active and lifestyle-conscious target group.”

The four-door coupe maintains its wide wheel arches and slim sporty waistline. There are two powerdomes on the bonnet for the sporty feel while the new radiator grille has classic twin louvres and the AMG Line front apron with flics on the air inlets.

The trim elements are done in silver chrome on the louvres in the outer air inlets. While moving to the side, you’ll notice that the 18-inch light-alloy wheels have a twin-spoke design. Also, an option is a set of 19-inch wheels.

Inside, the frameless doors open up to a world of high-tech ambiance where quality, style, and elegance all combine. There is ambient lighting in an array of 64 colors and the seat covers are available in ARTICO man-made leather with DINAMICA microfiber in black with red contrast stitching. You can choose red seat belts too or have them made in ARTICO man-made leather available in black/digital gray.

Where the CLA 35 separates itself is on the MBUX that replaces the COMAND systems. The new system creates a closer connection between the vehicle, driver, and passengers. The optional MBUX interior assistant can operate infotainment functions and even turn the reading light on or off. It recognizes the hand positions and movements of the driver and the passengers as well.

The Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 is powered by a 2.0-liter biturbo inline-four engine. The unit produces 306 hp and 400 Nm of torque. It is partnered to a seven-speed automatic gearbox. The setup lets the car accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. Meanwhile, its max speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.
