2019 Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupe Gives Nod To Its Predecessor

Giancarlo Perlas February 3, 2019

Is there any car sexier than the 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupe at the moment? There might be a few we can mention, but if that little LED strip out front doesn’t give you the tingles, we don’t know what can.

In a bit of a dramatic video that lasts 1:21 minutes, the German company gave us a glimpse of how the new CLA coupe looks on the road—from the city to the open country. Whether it’s under the sunlight of in complete darkness, the new CLA coupe is a total standout.

The design of the 2019 CLA coupe highlights the “coupe” character of the car, thanks to its stretched form and body structure, as well as its design elements such as the bonnet with power domes. The design gives justice and a nod to its predecessors.

The CLA coupe is also highly intelligent, thanks to an MBUX that continually learns as you use it. The MBUX Interior Assist, which makes the cabin as luxurious as ever, recognizes operational demands from gestures and equips the interior with intelligence. It can produce augmented reality for navigation and understand indirect voice commands. It also has an “energizing coach” that provides fitness recommendations to the driver and the passengers.

The new generation of compact sedans contributed greatly to the development and the engineering of this new CLA coupe. In total, some 750,000 units of the first-generation CLA Coupe and the CLA Shooting Brake have already been sold.

The new CLA will be first available as an Edition 1. It will be manufactured at the Kecskemét plant in Hungary and will be available in the market starting May 2019.
