Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 Caught Waiting at the Stop Light
Giancarlo Perlas December 9, 2018We just saw the Mercedes-Benz GLS making its rounds. Lately, there have been sightings of the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe too. This time, the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 sport utility vehicle was caught waiting for its turn to go at a stop light.
The unit was only wearing a little amount of camouflage, so we can clearly see its side panels, hood, roof, and lights. The only covered areas of the auto were its bumpers, side skirts, badges, and front grille.
The layout of the wrapped components suggests that the vehicle is definitely AMG. The bumpers, particularly the front with a protruding lip spoiler, appear sportier than the ones fitted on the standard Mercedes-Benz version of the GLE. Moreover, the exhausts of the prototype are the biggest giveaway of its identity. A close look shows that it is equipped with quadruple tailpipes integrated on the rear bumper.
One thing that sticks like a sore thumb on the spy video though is the AMG GLE 63’s set of wheels. The black alloy wheels just look so small for an SUV and AMG vehicle. But then again, these may only be for testing purposes, and it should be noted that AMG has a lot of wheel designs to choose from anyway.
Since the car stopped at the red light, the source of the spy video was able to peek through its interior. The clear glass of the AMG GLE 63 gives us a view of its digital screens and instrument cluster. Meanwhile, an AMG logo is displayed beneath the tachometer of the instrument cluster.
The AMG GLE 63 is expected to come out in 2020. Look forward to a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 underneath the SUV’s hood with an output somewhere around the 550 to 600 hp mark.
