New Mercedes-Benz B-Class Will Debut At Paris Auto Show In October

Giancarlo Perlas September 24, 2018

After seeing the next-generation Mercedes-Benz B-Class minivan in a series of spy shots, it is finally taking off its camouflaged wraps at the Paris Auto Show on October 2, 2018.

According to Mercedes, the B-Class will be joining the new Mercedes-AMG A35, Mercedes-AMG 43 4-Door Coupe, Mercedes-Benz EQCMercedes-Benz GLE and new Smart concept car at the Paris event.

So far, Mercedes is mum on the features of the vehicle. The spy shots don’t reveal much about it too. The official statement of the company only says that the B-Class will be more spacious inside. Of course, it is already given that it will be more dynamic and agile than the outgoing model but we shouldn’t expect much from it since it is a minivan after all.

The B-Class will be riding on the MFA2 front-wheel-drive platform of Mercedes. Included in the lineup of the range are the B200 and B250 models with inline-four engines producing 163 and 224 hp, respectively. In addition, it will come with diesel and plug-in hybrid variants.

Inside, the B-Class will most probably adopt the same dual-screen dashboard design similar to the A-Class. It will also benefit from the MBUX intelligent multimedia system of Mercedes. The safety elements found in the S-Class are said to make their way to the new minivan but we don’t have additional information about them yet.

The B-Class might not make it on the US soil. It should be noted that the electric version of the series was discontinued in the country after the 2017 model year. The report claimed that the void left behind by the unit will be filled by the new EQA hatchback.
