All-New Mercedes-Benz GLE Flashes Its Headlights And The World Lost Its Mind

Giancarlo Perlas September 11, 2018

It has been a long time coming, but it looks like we are finally being treated to more revealing shots of the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLE midsize luxury SUV. A new photo and a short clip from the German automaker show the GLE’s restyled front fascia design and swanky full-LED headlights.

There were numerous spy shots of the new GLE in recent months, but none have been more revealing of its exterior. What the photos showed was the elegant interior that we’ve come to expect from a Mercedes car. However, the new sketch and short clip give us an interesting glimpse into the newly designed front fascia, as well as the exciting new headlights that Mercedes has fitted the GLE with.

The 2019 GLE, by all indications, will be different from the current-generation GLE in every way possible. According to Mercedes, only two or three bolts will be shared with the outgoing model and the new one will grow in size by being 3.1 inches (80 millimeters) longer.

In a bid to better rival the Range Rover, Mercedes developed the GLE with an off-road terrain in mind. Though this does not mean drivers would put a luxury SUV car on the off-road, the vehicle has improved off-road capabilities and handling. The Active Body Control, in particular, has been updated and there will be an Off-Road Plus setting to boost the ride height by nearly two inches.

For better off-road prowess, buyers can choose to a two-speed transfer case at an additional cost.

The new Mercedes-Benz GLE will be unwrapped in the coming days. It will likely make its public debut at the Paris Motor Show next month.
