There are so many questions about the facelifted 2018 Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan, so it’s a good thing that a prototype has been spotted testing in Southern Europe.

After having seen the updates on the S-Class, there are bigger expectations on this next one according to CarAdvice.

1. Exterior

Like the S-Class, the C-Class sedan will receive revised front and rear bumpers, a refreshed interior, new headlight internals, and tail-lamp graphics. Similar with its bigger sibling, it looks like Mercedes-Benz decided to turn the C-Class into a sportier sedan, thanks to a more aggressive sculpting that brings that edge to the exterior.

The front and rear fascias are expected to gain a sportier design, too, and there will be enlarged openings for the air intakes (both real and fake).

Driving with the facelifted C-Class sedan will be more comfortable thanks to a myriad of tech features that will be carried over from the updated S-Class. Some of the features to be expected are the on-the-fly suspension tuning, automated lane charging, remote parking, and improved road scanning for better cruise control operation.

2. Interior

There are also snippets of the car’s interior, which showed the trackpad in the center console for the Comand infotainment system. There might be updates for the steering wheel, infotainment screen (perhaps, a larger one?), and the instrument cluster, but these are still all covered in cloth during the testing.

Based on previous spy shots, that only suggest that there would be new designs for these.

3.  Drivetrain

There are still no updates about what’s under the C-Class sedan’s hood, but expect to see the latest 2.0-liter turbo diesel or Mercedes’ new 300kW/500Nm 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder petrol engine with an electric compressor for the AMG variant of the C-Class.
