5 Essential Ingredients of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class G-Cross

Known vehicle tuner Hofele Design just revealed its new project involving the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. The package offered by the specialist is called the G-Cross. In a nutshell, the iconic SUV of the three-pointed star brand was improved slightly in terms of appearance and was given a significant boost in its power.
According to TopSpeed, the Mercedes G-Class G-Cross is positioned to compete against the Mercedes-AMG G63 tuning packages of G-Power, Edo Competition, Brabus and German Special Customs.
Here are the key features of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class G-Cross of Hofele Design:
1. Engine Boost
The power boost of the Hofele Design package for the G-Class does not only concentrate on the likes of the Mercedes-AMG G63 and the G65. The tuning kit also includes the models below the AMG line down to the diesel-fed Mercedes-Benz 320 CDI and the 350 CDI. Even the massive Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6 benefits from it.
With the IPQ engine software processor of Hofele, the 5.5-liter biturbo V8 of the G500 gets up to 509 hp and 544 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, the upgrade takes the AMG G63 V8’s output to 663 hp and 684 lb-ft of torque, and it raises the numbers on the 6.0-liter biturbo V12 of the AMG G65 to 734 hp and 885 lb-ft of torque. The rare G63 AMG 6×6 receives 658 hp and 678 lb-ft of torque from the tune.
2. Improved Exterior Styling
Hofele Design only offers a subtle improvement in the look of the G-Class. Thus, the iconic look that makes the SUV very appealing remains. The tuner replaces the grille of the auto and embeds its signature “H” logo at its center. The Mercedes also receives new bumpers, running boards and integrated LED lighting system on the roof shield.
3. Wheels
Complementing the added power and the cosmetic changes in the Mercedes G-Class is a new set of Hofele’s Reverso wheels measuring 22 inches.
4. Enhanced Interior Design
Many brands that offer customization to vehicles shy away from the interior of the autos they are working on. There’s a lot to look forward inside the G-Cross of Hofele though. Despite only having a few enhancements in the interior design of the G-Class, the package of the tuner gives the cabin of the SUV a bit more personality. Included in the interior updates are new leather upholstery and sport steering wheel.
5. Price
Hofele revealed that the tuning kit only amounts €549 or $581. The cost of the body kit and interior materials were not mentioned, so buyers will have to ask the specialist about those.
