Spy shots of the upcoming 2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet emerged recently, as shown on a report from gtspirit.com. It appears the launch of the last few variants of the E-Class is gradually increasing its pace. Industry watchers may have had their share of spy shots of Mercedes-Benz cars in recent weeks. This comes are the German luxury vehicle manufacturer is in the middle of preparations for the release of new models into the market.

The undisguised version of the latest E-Class Cabriolet is expected to see the light of day before the end of the year, and will be released into the market by next year. It may be unveiled following the release of the E-Class Estate and the E-Class Coupe into the market.

Industry watchers were not surprised at the fact that the latest model of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet features a similar design as the C-Class and S-Class. The E-Class convertible will use the MRA rear-wheel drive architecture, which essentially makes it a glorified version of the C-Class Cabriolet. It also gives an indication that the E-Class Cabriolet will have a bigger interior and storage space compared to the C-Class convertible. Despite its bigger size compared to its predecessor, it will be lighter since it will be using more lightweight components.

The new E-Class Cabriolet will feature four-cylinder and six-cylinder engines, which are currently used on the E-Class sedan. There is also a big possibility that it may receive some AMG treatment, which is has some industry watchers shaking with excitement. This indicates that a future variant of the open-top E-Class may come with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine offering 600 HP of power. When it comes to the interior, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet may come with the dashboard of the E-Class sedan and may feature a number of autonomous driving features.
