Pictures Of Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon Emerge Amid Rumors Of All-Terrain Version
Peter Parcon January 18, 2016Even as the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate was spotted recently, rumors have started to emerge indicating that the German luxury vehicle manufacturer may enter the jacked-up wagon market, as shown on a report from autoevolution.com.
The success of Volvo and Audi in the jacked-up wagon market may have given rise to the reports that Mercedes-Benz may be developing another version of the E-Class Estate. Reports have indicated that this second version may feature a higher ground clearance. Motoring Australia indicated that the second version may be called the All-Terrain, which may change once production starts. Its closest competitor in the market will be the Audi A6 Allroad.
After the E-Class was unveiled in Detroit, the innovations on the next generation have become an open secret within the industry.
The 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate may be launched online by the Stuttgart-based company in June. By September, the upcoming luxury vehicle may be officially unveiled by the company. On the other hand, the All-Terrain may be introduced by 2017. However, the possibility that this particular version will officially enter the US market is rather slim, mainly due to the low interest among American consumers on station wagon.
Customers looking for the advantages offered by the GLE including the air suspension without the overall feeling of an SUV may find the rugged all-terrain model appealing.
Aside from the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate and an off-road version, another variant is expected to become a part of the E-Class range. It may be possible for a Maybach-branded version to being the latter part of its development by the luxury vehicle manufacturer. While consumers in the Chinese market may be ecstatic about this version, this version may be not limited to a long-wheelbase model aimed at China.
It may be possible for this model to be offered in a number of countries and the sales figures may be more than enough to justify its launch into the market. While this model may be considered as an opulent model for a specific segment in the market, it may also be a different model of an E-Class that is a popular choice among taxi companies.
