New Mercedes-AMG GT Caught On Camera Again

The Mercedes-AMG GT was caught on camera again while going through testing in cold weather conditions, as shown on a report from gtspirit.com. The venue for the cold-weather tests conducted by engineers of the luxury vehicle manufacturer was northern Sweden.

While the heavy camouflage on the AMG GT did not make it easy to look into the details of the exterior of the vehicle, the emergence of the photos gives an indication that a faster version of the original AMG GT is still in the plans of the German luxury vehicle manufacturer.

It remains uncertain whether this particular model will be the Black Series model or not due to the complete revamp of the product naming policies of Mercedes-Benz. It may also be possible that this vehicle may not be the Black Series, but a faster variant of the GT. However, there are also some rumors that it will adopt the Mercedes-AMG GT-R moniker, and is said to be the road-going variant of the AMG GT3 race car.

This particular model features a new front fascia with a front spoiler and air intakes located at a lower position compared to previous mules. The rear also shows new air intakes located between the taillights along with a central exhaust, redesigned rear diffuser, and a huge spoiler. The AMG GT also features aggressive side skirts and lightweight wheels with a high-performance braking system.

CEO Tobias Moers of AMG earlier indicated that the new AMG GT will feature a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine offering around 550 HP of power. It may also be lighter by 175 pounds compared to the AMG GT, which means it will have a slight speed advantage over its predecessors.

The new Mercedes-AMG GT or GT-R may be officially unveiled before the end of the year, probably during the Geneva Motor Show.
