Mercedes-Benz SLC

Have you always loved driving while breathing the breeze of fresh air and basking in the warmth of the sun? If so, one of the cars that might interest you is the all-new Mercedes-Benz SLC.

A few days ago, Mercedes released a trailer for its new convertible via its Mercedes-Benz TV YouTube channel. The video showcases the car in all its glory, highlighting its very attractive exterior and luxurious interior. It also demonstrates how the retractable roofing of the car operates.

Two models of the car were shown in the clip, namely the Mercedes-Benz SLC 300 and the Mercedes-AMG SLC 43. The two offer major updates from their predecessors namely the Mercedes-Benz SLK 350 and the Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG.

Starting with the engine, the SLC 300 gets a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine with 241 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. The range-topping AMG SLC 43 has a 3.0-liter biturbo V6 engine with 362 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque.

The two are capable of sprinting from zero to 60 mph in just 5.7 seconds and 4.6 seconds, respectively. Moreover, the respective max speeds of the cars are rated at 130 mph and 155 mph. All that power is distributed through a 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission gearbox.

Among the other key updates of the SLC can be found in its chassis, suspension, brakes, axles, and Dynamic Select system. Of course, coupled with the changes in the power units are revisions in the fuel-consumption and carbon dioxide emissions of its models too.

According to Mercedes-Benz TV, the combined fuel consumption of the SLC 300 is 6.2-5.8 per 62 miles while its combined carbon dioxide emissions is 144-134 g/km. For the SLC 43, its combined fuel consumption is 7.8 per 62 miles with combined carbon dioxide emissions of 178 g/km.
