Numerous spy photos of the 2016 Mercedes-Benz S-Class convertible have been floating around on the Internet lately, showing the car with little camouflage. In the latest that we’ve seen so far, only the boot lid, taillights, and rear bumpers were hidden in a dark wrap. Therefore, there’s very little left to the imagination as to what it will possibly look like when it will finally be unveiled.
Taking some cues on the spy photos of the S-Class cabriolet leaked online, WorldCarFans came up with its own rendering of the car. They used a silver Mercedes S-Class as a model and lifted some styling ideas from the coupe version of the auto.
No one has ever seen the S-Class convertible with its top folded yet. So the source manipulated the picture to show the car with its roofing retracted to its rear.
Overall, the S-Class cabrio carries all the styling found on its coupe version. The covered portions in the rear of the convertible will less likely show significant difference with the coupe too. It is possible that the design of the rear will also borrow some of the elements of the E-Class convertible to some extent. The cabin will not be that different from the coupe variant of the flagship model of Mercedes as well.
Based from company insiders, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Convertible will make its world premiere in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It is expected to carry the same engine options found on the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe.
