Extreme Adventure For The Mercedes-Benz G-Class With Mike Horn

Swiss extreme sportsman and explorer Mike Horn embarked on an incredible journey from Château-d’Oex in Switzerland all the way to Pakistan and the second highest mountain in the world, K2. For this particular trip, the Swiss adventurer used a Mercedes-Benz G-Class, as indicated on a report from gtspirit.com.

While Horn started the trip in Switzerland, he had to go through driver training in Germany with Mercedes-Benz to familiarize himself with the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. The first part of the trip saw Horn passing through harsh areas in Eastern Europe and central Asia before reaching Pakistan. On the way, he passed through Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, China and Russia.

The second part of the journey started in the city of Skardu where the Mercedes-Benz Brand Ambassador together with Alpinists Köbi Reichen and Fred Roux will scale K2. The plan of the team is to become the first Alpinists in the world to descend the second-highest mountain in the world on skis.

The expedition is aimed at drawing attention to the beauty of the planet and its most remote regions. While Mike Horn does not normally use vehicles when he sets off on an adventure, he said the Mercedes-Benz G-Class allowed him to reach the remotest areas in his expedition. The adventurer admired the innovative technology and off-road capability of the G-Class, which he considers as his ideal motorized alter-ego.

The German luxury vehicle manufacturer has worked with Mike Horn for a number of years already. Mercedes-Benz Cars Vice President for Marketing Dr. Jens Thiemer said the company admires and supports Mike Horn’s mission in increasing awareness on the most remote areas in the world. Dr. Thiemer added that the Mercedes-Benz G-Class provided to Mike Horn is an ideal partner for the expedition. Aside from the recent expedition of Mike Horn, the Germany-based company also supported the PANGAEA expedition.
