A teaser image of the upcoming 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT3.

It seems like Mercedes got its hands full in the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. Aside from the Mercedes-Maybach Pullman and the Mercedes-AMG G500 4×4², the three-pointed star marque will also be launching a beast worthy of everyone’s attention. The said unit is the Mercedes-AMG GT3.

So far, not much information had been provided about the auto yet, but its teaser photo above gives us a glimpse of what we could expect from it. From the looks of it, the car is truly imposing. The massive vertical grille and the pair of headlights that appear like the face of an angry viper staring right back at the viewer of the photo are just too hot.

From the very limited info that Mercedes released about the super car, it will have features that complies with FIA’s GT3 racing championship standards.

The possible hardware powering the Mercedes-AMG GT3 is a revised version of the biturbo 6.2-liter V8 from its predecessor, according to several automotive sites. A sequential unit could replace the seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox of the car too.

Rumors add that the price of the AMG GT3 would likely fall along the $500,000 range, including taxes. That’s similar to what buyers have to shell out for the outgoing Mercedes SLS AMG GT3.

The mean-looking machine is expected to go against the likes of the Aston Martin Vantage GT3, Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3, Audi R8 LMS ultra, Dodge Viper GT3-R, Lamborghini Huracan GT3, Bentley Continental GT3, the Porshe 911 GT3, and other models with GT3 specs.
