Daimler is not only known for its exceptional Mercedes-Benz vehicles but also with its trucks. Last August 22, the North American wing of the multinational corporation celebrated another milestone in its truck division. During that time, it shipped its three millionth vehicle according to Salisburypost.com.

The vehicle was a Freightliner Cascadia Evolution, which was manufactured at a plant in Cleveland. The recipient of the three millionth vehicle was Steve Duley, the vice president of Schneider, which is one of the biggest truckload carriers in  North America. The transfer came with a ceremony to commemorate the important event in the history books of Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA).

Roger Nielsen, the CEO of DTNA stated, “Daimler Trucks North America is committed to pacing the industry in terms of engineering and manufacturing excellence, as well as production of vehicles that provide a real total cost of ownership solution for our customers”.

Nielsen commended the employees of the Freightliner plant for their outstanding work in manufacturing during the ceremony too. He acknowledged the support of the union to Daimler as well.

About the Freightliner Cascadia Evolution

The first Freightliner Cascadia Evolution possesses 6×2 DetroitTM integrated powertrain package. It also comes with a Detroit DD15 engine, Detroit DT12TM transmisson and Detroit axles. Moreover, its powertrain has a high-end component communication that provides the vehicle the highest level of performance, Daimler pointed out.

On the other hand, the Vice President of Schneider praised the trucks of Freightliner for their comfort and safety. In addition, he revealed that their drivers prefer Freightliner trucks above others.
