A Buyers Guide to Mercedes-Benz Body Repairs

As a customer when it comes to needing body repairs for your Mercedes it can often be difficult to find a good deal as well as a good quality service. For a job that needs a quick repair it is often left longer and longer because it isn’t an urgent issue but often the problem can get worse if it isn’t dealt with properly. A small dent in the bodywork could lead to rust and decay of the metal work or a small chip in the windscreen could result in a smashed windscreen. So ensuring that you get the tiny issues sorted first is important so it doesn’t grow into something that could be more expensive in the future. Choosing a Garage

A bit of research into the local repair shops around you is a good idea. They will all offer different rates and the length of time for the job to be completed will also differ. With this in mind you need to consider what you will be getting for your money. If you want something fixed within a day or two you might have to pay a little bit extra but this will mean that you won’t have to arrange alternative transport to work. It is also important to get a breakdown of the cost of the part (if there is one) and the labour costs. This will help you to understand where your money is going. If you are getting a similar quote for the cost of the part and it is the labour cost that is changing, you have to decide which garage is offering the better service. Don’t just choose the cheapest garage, it might mean that somewhere else the work comes with a warranty for a little more money. Also consider a specialist Mercedes garage too.

Getting the Best Deal

Obviously we are all after the best deal possible. You might want to enquire what is needed to fix the problem. If it is just simply labour then get a few quotes but if a new part needs to be fitted, find out what it is and see if you can find it elsewhere for cheaper. If you go back to the garage they might just do it for you but make sure that they are happy to do this otherwise you might end up with a spare part with no use for it! The best way to get a good deal is to tell other garages what you have been quoted, but be honest, they will know if the quote seems reasonable or not. If they can match another offer they will but for some business it is just too costly. They also have costs to consider such as motor trade insurance, staffing costs and rent. If they cannot afford to do the work for cheaper they simply won’t but there is no harm in asking.

Overall, it is important to research the Mercedes garages around you that will carry out the work, how long it is going to take and if there are any extras within the cost such as warranty. Once you have all the information then you can make a well informed decision but don’t just opt for the cheapest.
