In the 2014 edition of the Motor Klassik Award, Mercedes-Benz managed to get wins in a whopping six categories, showcasing the continued excellence of the brand in a variety of aspects.

The Silver Arrows race cars, the 1934 W 25 and the 1954 W 196 R, took a double victory in the ‘Racing Cars’ and ‘Auction Cars’ categories. In the ‘Classics up to 1930’ category, the Mercedes-Benz SSK sports car bagged the victory, while the 300 SL “Gullwing” Coupé (pictured) took the win in the ‘Classics 1947 to 1961’ category.

The G-Class won the ‘Off-roaders 2014’ race, and Mercedes-Benz’s Genuine replacement parts via Mercedes-Benz Classic rounded out the evening for the German automaker by winning ‘Best Brand’.

That gives Mercedes-Benz six victories out of 19 categories. The winners for each category are selected by the readers of the renowned Motor Klassik classic vehicle magazine. The ‘Best Brand’, ‘Racing Cars’ and ‘Auction Cars’ categories are among the special awards categories. Nine categories are for current models, and are evaluated for the potential to become classics in the future.

This is the second time the G-Class has been voted as a winner in the awards’ Off-roader category. The current-gen unit features top-of-the-line technology as well as exclusive interior furnishings, while still keeping the kind of off-road performance and style it has been known for since starting production in 1979.

As for Mercedes-Benz genuine parts, it’s only natural that a brand that prides itself in its classic cars provide a reliable supply of replacement parts. Mercedes-Benz Classic offers a catalog of some 40,000 parts specific to its classic vehicle models, along with an additional 15,000 common parts.
