mercedes reigns in luxury car market of singapore

BMW reigned in the luxury car market in 2013 after selling 1.65 million units worldwide. However, the gap between its rivals seems to be closing in.

Particularly, Mercedes-Benz has been displaying significant growth in sales leading up to the end of that year. It is noteworthy to mention that its December sales toppled the figures of its two major competitors within that period and it gained the top position in the US market in that same year. Momentum has been really building up for the brand, primarily thanks to its CLA cars.

BMW may have owned the global luxury car market in terms of number vehicles sold, but Mercedes is picking up pace steadily taking each country in the globe one at a time.

Mercedes Tops Singapore Luxury Car Market

According to Today news site, Mercedes prevailed in the luxury car market of Singapore in the recently-ended year. Sales figures showed that it has sold a total of 3,871 units in the country. That is 142 units more than the cars sold by BMW in the location which is only 3,729 units.

Notably, BMW gained a significant lead over Mercedes in Singapore during 2012. BMW sold 5,039 during that year which dwarfed the sales of Mercedes in the same area by 716 units.

Although the three-pointed star brand only had 142 units advantage in 2013, it just goes to show that its momentum is continuing.

Two Digit Growth Seen in Luxury Car Market of India

The Times of India stated that Mercedes had grown its sales in India by 32 percent in 2013 which is the most successful year of the brand in the country so far. Its managing director and CEO Eberhard Kern said in an interview that they are targeting another double-digit growth in India this year.

Daimler Focuses in Chinese Luxury Car Market

Gradually, China is gaining lead in terms of luxury car demand. Industry experts even say that it might overtake the demand of US in the near future.

The most number of luxury cars sold in the Chinese market may have belonged to BMW last year, but Mercedes has been aggressively catching up with it as Daimler has turned its focus in the region and currently developing its networks there.
