Common Mistakes Customers Make When Buying a Mercedes-Benz Car

Buying at a Mercedes-Benz car dealership in Perth can either be a rewarding experience or financially draining. The latter can be the end result if you fail to notice that you are committing the same set of mistakes that every Mercedes-Benz car buyer does.

So, to help you get the right Mercedes-Benz car without emptying your bank account, here are some quick tips about the five things that you should avoid (arranged in no particular order) when buying a car in Perth:

1. Buying Add-Ons that are Not Needed

Dealers want to get the most out of the deal so they try to convince you to buy additional products from them like rust protectors, fabric shields, accessories and others. Just stick with the features that you need. If ever you decide to buy some of the add-ons, try your best to bargain their costs down, especially when going out and getting yourself a new CLS that was just released in Australia.

2. Not Researching Before Buying

Before going to a Mercedes car dealer, come up with a list of the features that you need from a vehicle. Then, make another list of the models that are available in your area which fall into the categories that you need. Narrow down your search by comparing them from each other until you arrive at your ideal car.

3. Omitting the Test Drive

Do not just rely on the prints or what the dealer says about it. Better see the performance of the car yourself to avoid regrets after purchase.

4. Indicating Early that You Want to Pay in Cash

There is nothing wrong about paying in cash right away. However, stating early that you want to do it upfront before negotiating can put you at a disadvantage.

Usually, dealers earn a lot through interests acquired from loans so once you have stated that you want to pay in cash, they will be less willing to negotiate because they will already know that they won’t be making much from you. A wise move would be to negotiate the final price first before saying that you want to pay in cash.

5. Starting on the Trade-In Before Buying a Car

Settling on the price of the car that you will be trading in will give the dealer an idea on what the final price should be. Of course, the dealer will make sure that it will get more than your piece of bargain. Therefore, do not give up your bargaining advantage by starting with the trade-in.

Always negotiate for the final price of the car that you want to buy first before dropping in the talk about trading-in. This way, you can maximise your savings or minimise your losses.
