Breaking News: Mercedes CEO Set to Leave the Team on April

Nick Fry, Mercedes team CEO will be leaving the group by April. This is the news that is making its rounds in the online community a couple of hours ago. Based on Yahoo! Sports, the Mercedes team CEO has been in the team for 11 years.

The news source stated that although Fry will be relieved of his duties as CEO, he will still remain as a consultant for the team. The duties left behind by the CEO will be handled by Executive Director Toto Wolff who owns 30 percent shares of the team.

Fry said in one interview that he is proud to have taken part in the team’s overall performance over the past 11 years, especially during its double world title in 2009.

Among his recent accomplishments include bringing Lewis Hamilton to the team and also taking Paddy Lowe, as reported by authority sports news sources.

Currently, the team is doing good in the starting season of F1. It is only behind Red Bull, Ferrari and McLaren. Hamilton even made it to the fifth position during last weeks Australian Grand Prix.
