Mercedes-Benz Unveils the SLS AMG Coupe Black Series

Drawing some inspiration from the racing version of the SLS AMG GT3, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupe Black Series packs quite the punch. The fifth AMG vehicle in the high-performance Black Series line sports a 6.3L V8 that gives the car a whipping 631 horsepower at 7400 rpm, and it is equipped with other topnotch features that make the car worthy of the Black Series name.

This gullwing is built for performance, and this is reflected in the 3.6 seconds it takes the vehicle to go from 0 to 100 kph, as well as the top speed of 315 kph or around 196 mph. This amazing acceleration is backstopped by AMG high-performance ceramic brakes within the AMG light-alloy wheels. There’s an AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports gearbox for incredible shifting response. There’s also an optional Aerodynamics package should provide some more performance boosts. There’s also plenty of carbon fiber used in the vehicle components to make sure the body stays light.

The interior also has Black Series racing pedigree, from the Alcantara leather (in black or black/red color schemes) to the performance sports steering wheel, racing aficionados will surely get a kick out of this car’s interior. There’s also a Bang & Ofulsen BeoSound AMG surround sound system. Of course, there are also some optional interior furnishings to suit particular tastes of prospective buyers.

Other features that come with the SLS AMG Coupe Black Series are the electronic AMG rear-axle differential lock, AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension, and matte black forged wheels designed by AMG specifically for the Black Series.
