Car and Driver: Tested presents us with this clash of the pillar-less titans. If you’re not impressed with Mercedes-Benz’s high-performance subsidiary, AMG, you might want to take a look at this video and then think again. This is the AMG Virtual Tour, a short film featuring the AMG headquarters in Affalterbach that encapsulates just what AMG does and how it translates into an experience for a prospective buyer. The video showcases everything in the HQ, from the topnotch showroom, where the current crop of Mercedes-Benz AMG vehicles are in full display for the adoring public, to the private lounge where members of the “growing AMG community” can bask in the ambiance of a world-class lounge while possibly contemplating which model to buy next,… Continue Reading »
Some of the most interesting Mercedes versions were found in Dubai, one is the SLS AMG by Hamman and the other is the matte red SL65 AMG. If you’ll get back to those two posts, you will see how great looking and eccentric are the cars that were shown in that country. This new version of the Mercedes SLS AMG is no exception. Wrapped in matte gold, the car looks like a chameleon on the desert’s sand. Amazing coat, but not everyone would choose this color for their super car. A new kind of CSL — that is what you could expect from the upcoming Concept Style Coupe, pegged to hit distributors by next year. The four-door coupe, otherwise known as the CSC, will be carrying around 208 horses inside its 2-litre inline four turbocharged engine, more than enough power to please even the most adventurous Mercedes-Benz owner. Daimler reports that the CSC will be produced at the Kecsemet facility in Hungary, and hints at the model having a variety of engines with power ranging from 108 to 208hp. If you weren’t able to catch a glimpse of the CSC at this year’s Beijing Motor Show, then the video below… Continue Reading »
What happens if you race the McLaren, one of the fastest cars in the world, with another Daimler car, the smart? Well, no doubt, McLaren will win. In a very ironic situation however, the smartfortwo seems to have won. But this is not a race. A police officer in the smallest and cheapest car in Daimler’s umbrella was seen writing a ticket for a parked Mercedes SLR McLaren Roadster in Beverly Hills. What happened when the owner of the stickered car saw the ticket is unknown. Well, there is nothing he can do right? It’s just funny, at least once, the smartfortwo wins.
Set in an apocalyptic theme, the video shows the super car Mercedes-Benz SLS in Berlin with all the angels and demons hullabaloo. The car features its huge lip, which was altered and tuned by MEC Design. The earth-shattering sound of the V8 engine is really something, as the tuner emphasize it and used it as a ‘soundtrack’. The clip is directed by Daniel Michaelis, and produced by Format67.net. The video narrated by Claudia Black is beautiful, worthy to be called a film in itself. Although made by a tuning company, we can say that it has great value, so go ahead and watch. The almost 2 minutes you’ll spend doing… Continue Reading »
This is embarassing. Imagine scooting around town in your badass Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren only to end up being handed a parking violation ticket by an officer driving a Smart car. In case you’re wondering, a new SLR McLaren held a price tag of just over half a million dollars during its time. It seems the wealthy owner, self-titled “Prince of Germany”, was simply begging to get caught by displaying his ride in the wrong place at the wrong time. The officers just happened to be driving along Beverly Hills, California in their Smart Fortwo when, lo and behold, there sitting in a no-parking zone was the 617hp supercar dressed up… Continue Reading »
