Aftermarket tuning specialist Iglhaut recently announced its plan to release a new package for the Mercedes-Benz V-Class. According to to tuner, it will be transforming the van into an “extreme terrain vehicle”. Iglhaut stated that it will equip the auto with a permanent all-wheel-drive system coupled with three locking differentials, higher suspension, and underbody protection. Also seen in the photos of the V-Class released by the company are large off-road wheels, roof rack, brush guard, vehicle snorkel, and rocker bars. It seems the new recall of Mercedes-Benz, which was announced a few days ago, does not only cover the E-Class, M-Class, and GLK-Class ranges as we reported earlier. According to a report on Bloomberg, Daimler is in talks with Renault on a possible cooperation for a new large van model, yet another instance of the existing pact between the two automakers. A Daimler spokeswoman, Uta Leitner, has confirmed from Stuttgart that there are discussions with Renault, but that these are “early talks.” Raluca Barb, speaking for Renault, has also confirmed that there have been talks, and she added that there are still decisions to make, particularly where production sites are concerned. Cognizant of the fact that utility vehicles don’t always travel on paved roads, Mercedes has announced that its vans and large-capacity vehicles are available with all-wheel drive. These include the Vito, Sprinter, Vario or Viano. According to Daimler, ”The comprehensive range offered by the all-wheel-drive quartet from Mercedes-Benz Vans covers the complete spectrum from comfortable large-capacity vehicle to sturdy large-volume van.” Of the four, three are available with Mercedes’ 4ETS Electronic Traction System.
