Want to own a Mercedes-Benz? You Can Always Buy Used

Few things come close to owning a Mercedes-Benz vehicle. It’s even better if you can do so without breaking the bank, or at least saving a considerable sum in the process. That’s entirely possible if you’re fine with buying used units. Used-car sales are popular even today, even when many economies are already recovering. Sure, there may be some risks when buying second-hand items, but we’re talking about German engineering and manufacturing here. Plus, products from brands like Mercedes-Benz keep their value well over time, so used cars are perfectly fine in this context. Just make sure you do all the necessary checks and inspections. If you want, you can… Continue Reading »

Here’s what you need to check when buying a used Mercedes-Benz car

It’s no secret that Mercedes-Benz has been doing pretty well in terms of unit sales, posting record monthly figures consistently. Still, with overall new-vehicle sales figures still on the cusp of recovery, used cars remain a popular avenue for prospective buyers. Mercedes-Benz’s used cars continue to be popular with buyers, even as the used-car market looks to stabilize after a blistering run in terms of prices and demand. As much as I’m sure we would all love to own the latest S-Class straight off the production line, for many of us, reality suggests it just won’t happen. But, for those of us who are buying second hand, there is some… Continue Reading »

Used Mercedes-Benz Cars Should Remain Popular

For a while now, Mercedes-Benz sales figures have been pretty good, with the German automaker getting some nifty record months, generally just selling a lot of cars all over the world. It’s a sign of economic recovery, although there’s still a lot going on globally as far as economies are concerned. That’s why it comes as no surprise that some analysts are still predicting an overall decline in new-car sales. A more stable economy isn’t driving down the demand for used cars, with the UK’s British Car Auctions pegging the market at around $61.3 billion over there.  Meanwhile, results from used-car chains are supporting the upward trend in the US… Continue Reading »

Mercedes-Benz Turning to Used Cars Amid New-Car Sales Slump

Companies always have different strategies when it comes to difficult economic conditions. Mercedes-Benz, for one, is cashing in on growing demand for used cars as the new-car sales in Germany plummet. This year, Germany’s sales figures for new cars are likely going to end up as the lowest since 1990. However, the pre-owned market is going strong as companies like Mercedes-Benz and even rival BMW step up their efforts to push used cars to consumers looking to save some money. This includes new offers for leases and quick loans in order to attract prospective buyers. According to Daimler banking unit chief Franz Reiner, these pre-owned vehicles allow access to ‘the… Continue Reading »

Korean traders under wraps for illegal export of Mercedes-Benz

As if being arrested for supporting North Korea’s bid for world domination thru the exportation of harmless ceramic tiles enroute to Kim-JOng iL’s beloved country wasn’t crazy enough, a group of Korean traders in Tokyo, Japan were served a fresh plate of arrest warrants for another mischievous act – shipping out secondhand Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Now, as avid fans of the brand, it is not part of our intentions to deprive our NoKon brothers of their God-given right to enjoy the fruits of German engineering. The only problem is, the Japanese government seems to be against the idea of senior NoKon officials getting command of the said fleet of exported vehicles…. Continue Reading »

Are used cars really that much cheaper?

With the economy still not back to where it was some years ago, getting used cars for sale instead of a new one is a better alternative. Or not. An economist, Paul Ballew said that over half a million people who bought new cars were actually thinking of buying used ones. “There’s a substitution effect going on between new and used. When you get those price gaps closing, you get people that are willing to shop new that wouldn’t have before,” he shared. This means that when a prospective buyer learned about the smaller price difference, plus the lesser amount of money you will spend on repair and maintenance, they… Continue Reading »
